Saugat Bista becomes World’s youngest film director
An eight-year-old Saugat Bista has become the World’s youngest film director of a professionally made feature length film. On the official site of Guinness Book of World Records, Saugat Bista is placed as the youngest film director.
Guinness, on its official website writes:
The youngest director of a professionally made feature length film is Saugat Bista (Nepal, b. 6 January 2007), who was aged 7 years and 340 days when Love you baba (Nepal, 2014) was released in cinemas on 12 December 2014.
Saugat is also a member of the Film Directors Guild of Nepal.
Sugat Bista has replaced earlier record holder India’s Kishan Srikanth who directed ‘Footpath’ (2006) at the age of nine years.
Saugat’s directorial ‘ Love You Baba 2014 ” tells the story of a father and his struggle to raise his 10-year-old daughter alone. Presented by Dance Fever (Rhythm of Soul), Love you Baba stars Gajit Bista , Sangam Bista and Nishma Ghimire in lead roles.
