Ok Jaanu brings the memories of O Kadhal Kanmani back

After the thriller invasion by the end of 2016, seems like Bollywood kept all the romantic movies for 2017! Does that mean that this year might be full of love? We are yet to see! And what we have yet to see is Ok Jaanu (Ok Darling) which finally hit the cinema! It is a remake of O Kadhal Kanmani, an old movie that we all loved. Love stories never get old indeed and we adore reviving them!

The story of Ok Jaanu

Adi and Tara are two young people with many dreams. Adi dreams of moving to the US and making his own life there, while Tara wants to become a successful architect in Paris. They start having fun together and their feelings start growing into something deeper. However, none of them is ready to give up their dreams and settle for a marriage, which is why they separate. Moreover, the lives that they dreamed of does not seem quite complete without one another, which is when they have to face their feelings.

The team

Ok Jaanu was directed by Shaad Ali, Produced by Mani Ratnam, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar and Written by Gulzar. Aditya Roy Kapur plays Adi/Aditya and Sharaddha Kapoor plays Tara. Additionally, Leela Samson, Naseeruddin Shah, Jasmeet Singh Bhatia and Prahlad Kakkar are also part of the cast.

Mani Ratham, mentioned above, was the director of O Kadhal Kanmani as well. For that reason, he knew exactly what he needed to add and exclude from it, which surely makes this movie even better. Perhaps he felt like Ok Jaanu needs to show the story in a different way or he simply wanted to remind the audience of it. Nevertheless, it is something worth watching. Once again, we will realize that everything changes once love enters our lives, including our dreams.
