Highest-grossing movie Kohinoor to pay huge tax
If the businees is unconcealed, bluckbuster movie Kohinoor would pay around one crore and thirty-six lakhs VAT to the Inland Revenue Department Nepal (IRD) by the 51st day of it’s screening.
The box-office highest-grossing movie Kohinoor is celebrating its 51 Days in theatres this Saturday, and by this deadline, Kohinoor is expected to make a net collection of around ten crores.
If paid the above mentioned amount (VAT), Kohinoor would set another record of the highest-tax-payer Nepali movie so far. It is already the highest-grossing-movie in the history of Nepali movies. But the distributer and the producer have not yet opened up about the movie’s actual business nor they want to. Too, cinema hall managers often prefer to keep it confidential.

The earlier high grossers, Nai Nabhannu La 2 , Cha Ekan Cha , and Loot also didn’t disclose the business to the government. The department had even issued a letter to Loot production unit to unveil the business and pay the essential tax amount.
Due to the actor Sree Krishna Shrestha ‘s death factor, Kohinoor’s collection went overwell. Just in the month of Bhadra, movie did tremendously well and also, it lowered down the business of other movies released same time. Kohinoor is still running in some theatres. Actors fans and audience paid tribute to the actor by watching his last cinema.
