Did the title make you confused? Maybe. But, yeah, you read that right; Jiwan Luitel is turning out to be a Bhutanese refugee and no wonder, it is on-screen. “After going through the story I accepted the offer to work on a movie titled ‘Refugee’”. Jiwan said. Jiwan will be playing a role of a Bhutanese leader.
To be directed by Udaya Subba, the movie will begin its shooting in the refugee camps based in Jhapa and Morang from 3rd of Asad. Jiwan shares that he really liked the story, which is also an opportunity for him to do something different. He is also confident on movie’s business in the overseas because of resettled Bhutanese.
The concept of the movie is believed to be taken from Bhutanese leader Tek Nath Rizal’s autobiography ‘Nirbasan’. Also, according to a source, Rizal has been involved in the story writing of the movie ‘Refugee’. Once the dearest person of Bhutanese King, Rizal was imprisoned and tortured by the same king for a long time.
